The first five years of life are crucial.
Vast evidence indicates during the first five years the total foundation is laid to guarantee either the success or failure of each
person in life. After the first five years, everything that happens merely builds on the early foundation.
A baby enters the world aware of its own needs and nothing more, but a child leaves the preschool period able to
walk, talk, enjoy the world around him, and engage in satisfying, self-directed activities. There is no other comparable span of life in which
a person learns so much so fast. If these impressions influence a child's total life, is it not reasonable to believe that early impressions
about God and things related to God are important? Obviously, the early years provide
the time to lay a foundation for the child's spiritual development. Wise parents will want their children to think happy thoughts about God's
church and to learn that Jesus loves them. |

Dear Mom & Dad,
Now, I am small, learning day by day to interact
within an ever-broadening world.
My eyes and ears bring me the patterns of how I am to respond,
Likes or dislikes,
patience or impatience,
wonder or boredom,
sadness or joy,
discovery or drudgery....
Your actions and words are my guidelines.
I love you! My imitations of your behavior spring from the fact that I want to be just like you.
